Setting Up Camp for the Wales Opening 2026
As preparations begin for the Wales Opening in 2026, our gang has been hard at work setting up our second camp — and it’s already shaping up to be something special.
We were joined by Woodlands TV, who spent the day filming as we built our first permanent feature on site: a large fire pit that will become the heart of the camp. The idea was simple — to create a gathering space where people can come together, share stories, cook outdoors, and enjoy the warmth of an open fire under the dark Welsh sky.
But as often happens when you work close to nature, the land had a surprise waiting for us. While walking the site, we uncovered a natural spring running just beneath the surface nearby. It was a moment of pure discovery — clear, cold water bubbling through the soil, reminding us how alive and generous this landscape really is.
The spring will now become part of our long-term plans for the site, both as a feature to preserve and as a sustainable water source for the camp. It feels like the land itself is welcoming us in and setting the tone for everything to come.
With the fire pit now complete and the spring flowing nearby, the site already has a sense of energy and promise. This marks the first step in what will be an exciting journey toward the Wales Opening 2026 — and we can’t wait to share more as the project unfolds.
